The Weekend Update

Friday - Chrissy Had to work all day and evening. Pete and Malachi joined up with some neighbor friends and their grandson Jakson, who has become like an everyday fixation for Malachi's life. They all went to Chuck E Cheese to play. Malachi used his tickets to get a rubber spider, rubber shark, and two rubber snakes.

Then they went to Chik Fil A for dinner. Malachi and Jakson got to play in the play area and enjoy an ice cream cone. Chrissy was even able to join the group at this point.

Malachi sure was exhausted by the time we made it home and got ready for bed!

Saturday - Chrissy finally had a day off! The family spent time getting things done around the house and playing in the house. It was just pouring outside the majority of the morning. In the evening we awaited some special visitors for Malachi. Uncle Darren and Aunt Laura came for a visit. We met up with them at Mellow Muchroom in Hickory and had a good dinner. Malachi refused to sit with us since Aunt Laura and Uncle Darren were more important. Upon returning to the house Malachi decided it was time to show every toy and every skill he could do to his aunt and uncle. Despite beign so tired Malachi also had a tough time going to sleep.

Sunday - Pete headed off to his church in the morning and Chrissy headed off to work as well. Aunt Laura and Uncle Darren were good sports in taking malachi to the church. They enojyed Pete's service and spending time playing outside with Malachi in the afternoon. Chrissy returned home late afternoon as Aunt Laura and Uncle Darren were getting ready to leave. Malachi, Pete and Chrissy then played outside for a while. Malachi drove his police car, we played baseball, we chased each other, and daddy even squirted him a bit when he was watering the flowers. Then we tried to keep Malachi on his normal schedule as much as possible despite it being spring break.

The weekend!

This weekend was very busy for us as usual! Friday Malachi got to come home early from after school and go next door and play with Jakson. He loves going over there and playing in the mud hole, petting the dogs, and jumping in the trampoline. Pete was lucky enough on Friday to find enough time to wash all 3 of the cars. Saturday we slept in slightly for once since we had nothing really going on. We had a nice family breakfast together and then Pete had to finish up sermon and bulletins while Malachi watched movies from our cable on demand system and I did some VBS prep work. Then I had to head to work for the night! I actually love my job I just wish I was going to be working more and getting more pay. We had a mock night at work where people where able to come in and eat for free via invitation. It was an interesting evening but I loved it. While I was at work though I worried about malachi and Pete as storms, hail, and tornados came rolling through. Pete actually took Malachi outside and showed him what hail was and looked like! Good educational opportunity. This morning of course we had church and then came home to enjoy a braves game and a nap. This evening we had some church meetings to attend. All in all it was a good weekend. But now we are about to have a very busy week with many things to happen!!

Times are changing!

Many things are changing and I wanted to be able to keep others updated and informed on what all is going on here at the Overcash house. I have had to drop out of nursing school and petition to reenter into the fall new class. I am awaiting anxiously everyday for the letter or phone call which will determine my fate for this fall. In the meantime I have just been offered a job. There is a new restaurant opening in Hickory. I will be the daytime Hostess at East Coast Wings & Grill. It is an amazing place and the food is awesome. Find out if there is one near where you live and go try I highly recommend it. I have been in training all week and think I am going to enjoy this job! So excited fro the opportunity of our mock night Saturday evening where we will be serving the Hickory Mayor and police department. I have been given the title of Director of both of our churches VBS for the summer. Malachi is all into baseball this spring. He is in Pre-Kindergarten and excelling extremely well. He has so many friends and learns new things everyday. He is getting so much better at writing his name, spelling, and trying to sound out a word. It amazes me everyday as to how much he has learned in the short time he has been at school. We had to sign him up for Kindergarten and with all the changes and things going on in our district we will have to apply for a transfer to be able to keep him at his same school. We hate the process we will have to go through but are willing to do it to keep Malachi in the best situation for him. He is signed up to play baseball from April 25-June 25 at the YMCA in Hickory. I can't wait to see him play coach pitch baseball. he loves to come home everyday and play in the backyard with daddy and I. He loves our trips to the park and the Science Center in Hickory as well. He is also a part of the Hickory Crawdads Kids Club. He loves to go to the games and meet the players. There is always so much fun going on with Malachi but I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. This picture is Malachi and his 'girlfriend' Brooke! Pete of course is as busy as always with his two churches and ministerial groups. He loves to get out and play with Malachi every evening. He even loves to play hide and seek in the house! It is funny to watch Malachi searching all over the house for Pete, when I know exactly where he is. Pete is teaching Bible study, assisting me with VBS, preparing all the Easter special services and events, and still completing all his requirements for his ordination process. I am hoping to make this a daily thing and keep everyone updated! So please choose to follow us and stay up to date with all our happenings!
